Visit to recycling facility - Poland
A group of students with accompaning teachers participating in Erasmus Project There is no o ther living planet visited a recycling company to learn about waste management and sustainability. Upon arrival, they were greeted by the CEO of Hamburger Recycling who explained the importance of recycling in reducing landfill waste and conserving natural resources. The tour began with a short introduction and presentation led by company’s worker. The students were amazed to learn how advanced technology, such as conveyor belts and magnets, helps automate the process. Next, they observed the crushing and shredding machines that break down materials before they are processed into reusable raw materials. The guide explained how these recycled materials are later used to make new products, such as packaging, clothing, and even furniture. The students also got small promotional gifts. The visit left participants inspired to be more conscious about waste disposal and to promote recycling in their community. As they left the facility, they discussed ideas for their ecology project, eager to apply what they had learned.
Visit to Coal Power Plant Converted into Art Gallery
Students visited a historic coal mine power plant that had been transformed into a stunning art gallery, blending industrial history with contemporary creativity. As they entered, they were captivated by the preserved machinery, massive turbines, and towering brick walls, now serving as a dramatic backdrop for modern artwork. The guide explained how the site once powered an entire coal mine but was later repurposed to promote sustainability and culture. Walking through the galleries, they admired paintings, sculptures, and installations that reflected themes of industry, energy, and environmental change. An interactive exhibit allowed them to explore the impact of coal mining on both communities and nature. The visit left them inspired, seeing how an old industrial site could be reinvented into a space for artistic expression and learning.
