Meeting in Türkiye - Small-Scale Partnerships in School Education Project - Student Exchange

Date: 1-5 December - 2025

We organized student exchange events in Türkiye.

The theme of our third student exchange event: Ecological Footprint

The Turkish school prepared to welcome its partners with a Mehter march. Following cultural folk dances, School Principal Mehmet AYRA gave a short speech and greeted the participants.

Students from each country researched and observed the environmental impacts of ecological footprint. They presented their research and observations.

We visited the Marmara Clean Air Center to examine and observe how air pollution measurements are taken.

We conducted an Environmental Studies lesson at the Arnavutköy Science Center. Our topic was microorganisms in the air that cause air pollution and are invisible to the naked eye.
These microorganisms (bacteria, fungi, etc.), which are invisible to the naked eye and cause air pollution, are grown and multiply in a specially prepared nutrient medium called a culture medium. Our observations and microscopic examinations were interesting...

We conducted scientific experiments at school.
1. In our first experiment, we designed an experiment to measure the air quality in our location. While preparing the Air Pollution Measurement Form, we used petroleum jelly, a material to which small particles in the air can adhere. We observed for a day. We tried to observe increases or decreases in air pollution levels. 2. In our second experiment, we tried to examine the effect of carbon dioxide gas on air pollution.

To calculate our ecological footprint, we worked with our students on questions and webpage design. Using our web application, we obtained a document detailing our ecological footprint.
